In 2025 our club launched its newest fundraiser, Rotary’s Pickleball for a Purpose sponsored by UNC Health Pardee. Rotary’s annual fundraisers help finance teacher grants for Henderson County’s K-12 educators. To date, our Rotary Club proudly has awarded over $625,000 to support innovative educational initiatives through a competitive grant process.

The first Pickleball for a Purpose tournament brought together players from Henderson County Parks & Recreation, Hendersonville Racquet Club, Pumphouse FItness Center, the YMCA of Hendersonville and other pickleball communities while players not associated with an established pickleball community competed in an Open tournament.  Designed as a social event for players who want to help raise funds for Henderson County teachers, all players competed on teams:  intermediate and advanced men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
