In 2025 our club launched its newest fundraiser, Rotary’s Pickleball for a Purpose sponsored by UNC Health Pardee. Rotary’s annual fundraisers help finance teacher grants to K-12 educators in Henderson County and four-year college scholarships to qualified Henderson County graduates. To date, our club proudly has awarded over $625,000 in teacher grants alone to support innovative educational initiatives.

Pickleball for a Purpose brings together players from various pickleball communities — for example, Henderson County Parks & Recreation, the Hendersonville Racquet Club and the YMCA of Hendersonville — with players not associated with an established pickleball community who compete in an open tournament. Designed as a social event for players who want to help raise funds for education, all players compete on teams: men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
