The Hendersonville Rotary Club supports the “Red Sand Project” in partnership with the Four Seasons Rotary Club and local nonprofits to raise awareness in Henderson County about the depths of modern day human slavery. North Carolina recently ranked 9th in the nation for reported cases, according to the National Human Trafficking Hotline. This annual event takes place in front of the Historic Henderson County Courthouse where participants are invited to fill cracks in the sidewalks with red sand.
